Pioneer DVR-A09XL Problem

Installed a Pioneer DVR-A09XL in my Dell Dimension 4550, and it will not read or write. The drive shows up in "My Computer" as a DVR-109--this is an older drive.

Jumpers are installed in cable select mode as was the DVD-RW I replaced

The Device Manager says it is working properly.

I flashed the drive with version 1.50 from the Pioneer web site, but it did not fix the problem.

Have uninstalled and re-booted--no luck.

Any ideas??
