Hi lise1224 and Welcome :tazz:

Download and install the following programs, If they're not on your computer, yet:
- AdAware SE: http://www.lavasoftu...pport/download/
- Spybot 1.4: http://www.safer-net...rors/index.html
- CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/ccdownload.php

HijackThis should be run from a permanent place on your hard drive. Please do this first: Go to C: and create a new permanent folder (call it hijackthis). Then put (or download - choose "save" not "run") the hijackthis.exe file in it (You must unzip it if it's zipped). You should now have C:\hijackthis\hijackthis.exe. Then run hijackthis by clicking this .exe file. By doing this, you will have backups if you accidentally remove the wrong item (running from a temporary folder these backups can easily get lost).

Go to Add/Remove Programs (START, settings, control Panel) and uninstall these apps (all may not be listed)
anything with a name similar to MyWay, MySearch, MyWebSearch, etc.

SurfSideKick 3
IESERVICE

Make sure you can view hidden and system files: Instructions here

Then Boot to safe mode: Instructions here

You are doing great ;) You Are Very Welcome ;)

We are almost there :tazz:

Make sure you can view hidden and system files: Instructions here

Then Boot to safe mode: Instructions here

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting fix checked.
Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{707E6F76-9FFB-4920-A976-EA101271BC25} - (no file)

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [\IEService.exe] C:\DOCUME~1\ALLUSE~1\APPLIC~1\IESERV~1\IEService.exe

O15 - Trusted Zone: http://www.neededware.com

Delete the following folder IF still present:

C:\DOCUME~1\ALLUSE~1\APPLIC~1\IESERV~1

Reboot

Download the zip file here and unzip it to your desktop.

Right-click on the deldomains.inf file and select 'Install'

Once it is finished your Zones should be reset.

Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE/Spyads, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE/Spyads, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.

Then browse to the C:\documents and settings\\User Name (repeat for all users)\local settings\temp folder and delete all files and folders in it.
Then browse to the C:\Windows\Temp folder and delete all files in it.
Then in internet explorer click tools>internet Options>General. Click on Delete Files make sure you get all offline content as well.

Run HJT agani and pls. post a fresh log. thanks :tazz:

Thanks so much for your patience. I know it seems like I might not be listening to you sometimes, but I am, but some of those files you mention, like ieservice.exe, I just can't find, even when I say to view hidden files! However, I did delete the file called IEService. Anyway, here's my new HJT log.

Hi lise1224

You did great :tazz: We are only left with this one:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [\IEService.exe] C:\DOCUME~1\ALLUSE~1\APPLIC~1\IESERV~1\IEService.exe

Symantec calls it: Adware.Fastfind

http://securityrespo...e.fastfind.html

Let's see if Ewido can clean it up:

http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
This setup contains the free as well as the plus-version of the ewido security suite. After the installation, a free 14-day test version containing all the extensions of the plus-version will be activated. At the end of the test phase, the extensions of the plus version are deactivated and the freeware version can be used unlimited times. The purchased license code of the plus version can be entered at any time.

Pls. save the Ewido log and post it together with a new HJT log. Thanks.

Unfortunately, I could not run a full scan of ewido, because it kept closing down all of a sudden about 1/3 of the way through the scan. However, here is my new HJT log.

Hi lise1224

You got rid of the IEService.exe :tazz: Great job !

Your log looks clean to me ;)

Now you can either make a new restore point OR you could flush your restore points:

Disable system restore: Instructions here.

Reboot

Enable system restore.

I would recommend downloading, installing and updating:

a. SpywareBlaster: http://www.javacools...areblaster.html
b. SpywareGuard: http://www.javacools...ywareguard.html

Pls. do NOT forget to go to Windows Update and get ALL critical updates.

Happy SAFE Computing !
