Hey guys, has any one got any suggestions with a good DVD player?

 

I have already tried the one with windows

DivX

and VNC

Windows DVD

 

Nothing really works.

Have a look at VLC Media Player

Its open source, and of good reputation and plays most things.

Haha Sorry I put VNC when I ment I have tried VLC, I was in a bit of a rush when I typed the post, sorry.

If VLC Media Player does not work on your computer and you have installed it correctly it is a fair indication that you have other problems with your computer...

 

It would be better to get the problems fixed before spending any more time on trying different media players.

 

If you post back  and list the steps you have taken so far to remedy the situation then this should help...

 

If you have completed a Speccy report then please provide the URL of the report as this should provide a fair insight into the machine and the hardware/software we are concerned with.

This laptop is only a month or 2 old and brought it brand new, so what problems would their be with my DVD drive etc?

If you want it looked at then it needs to be posted here.

 

However... you mention that the computer is only a month or so old.... so the first course of action should be to go back to the seller and tell them of the problem with the optical drive, as under some jurisdictions the onus will be on them to repair/replace it at no inconvenience to you.

I have found one, it is CyberLink Powerdvd, that is working perfectly.

That sounds like good news, well done!
I would still be inclined to find and fix the problems that caused the problems with the other players...
Now its working Ok perhaps its a good time to create a system restore point, a full registry backup and also a disc image..
