Modern TV stations broadcast a digital signal, right? So I have to input the antenna output to a digital/analog converter before I input it to the TV antenna input terminal, right?

But my Magnavox TV (from 2007) has an HDMI input terminal. Can I therefore skip the converter and feed the antenna output directly into the TV's HDMI terminal? Are such cables, with coax on one end and a male HDMI connector on the other end readily available?

If this question in not within the scope of GtG, would someone please refer me to a TV forum? Thanks.   ... batpark

FWIMBW, I am located in downtown Washington DC (20815) just a few miles from the major transmission towers.

If you're withing 25 miles of the TV towers, just use one of these $12 (USD) antennas: https://smile.amazon...p_85:2470955011

No you can't skip the receiver. The data is digital, but it still encoded and each transmitter broadcasts on a number of channels so you need a tuner, either integrated or set-top
