Chinese products are cheaper sometimes but the quality is not very high. I was thinking about purchasing a Chinese curling iron (they have cheap models under 50 bucks). But my friend said that it's better to spend more money and to buy such a tool that will not overheat my hair and will be suitable for my hair type. I've found plenty of recommendations here and decided to buy NuMe curling wand. I'm pleased with my new purchase, it allows forming exactly such locks as I imagined.
