The Malwarebytes research team has determined that FF Helper Protection is a potentially unwanted Firefox extension.

How do I know if my computer is affected by FF Helper Protection?

The extension closes about:addons so the user can not remove the extension manually.
But if you would restart Firefox in Safe Mode, you would see this entry in your list of installed Firefox extensions:

Forced extensions use a typical method for distributing themselves. This particular one was promoted as a Firefox update after an ad-rotator redirect.

How do I remove FF Helper Protection?
