hi all,

hope it is ok to post here re my problem.

i have mxq pro 4k android box and just recently have attempted to play apk movie apps as an alternative to kodi video addons.

i installed updated  terratium tv....teatv......and onebox but none of the movies i select will open and play.

i have tried switching between players.......vlc.....mx.....and easy...but none work.

netflix....mobdro.....youtube..... and kodi apps, for example, work ok.

also i tried connecting a  usb drive with movie content ; loaded ok but no movies would open and play.

earlier today a friend advised trying vuze torrents downloads.........i tried but had the same result as above.

thanks for any advice

regards

apk files are not playable.  they are the programs that you install.  if a movie will not play then I would suspect that the movie itself is the issue.

I'm going to be blunt:  you are trying to use this device to watch free content that is not "legal".  I am completely familiar with what your trying to do, how ever I believe it to be against our policies to assist with this issue.  If you have questions about installing APK files, be glad to assist.

thanks starjax for explaining the situation.

if i may, could i ask your advice on on an issue related to my first post.

i have a large cd collection purchased over the last couple of decades from which i have made a playlist and d/loaded to a usb flash drive.

i connected the drive to my mxq box ........ it loaded and displayed the music content ok; but would not open and play the music.

exactly the same result as before.

based on what I know, if you have mp3's on the drive, open google music, change to downloaded only and you should be able to play your music.  if you go to music library under google music, it may display an error.  ignore it  Click on category and it will display list of songs, albums, artists.

if it doesn't work, then can you browse the contents of the drive from the device?  If yes then I would try reseting the device back to factory defaults, let google play update and then try playing your music.

google music did not work.

the  music content of the usb flash drive  is displayed so i continued toward a reset.

in 'more settings' i located ;back up and reset' ..........clicked on it .......... message  ' factory reset'.....clicked on it..........page changed that asked me to confirm  p i n.

i have never had a p i n .

i entered 0000.....then 1234   but did not work

well you may have to go to https://www.entertainmentbox.com/to obtain support.  from what I read, nothing was said about a pin for that.  Check to see if there is a factory reset switch (like most routers have).

sigh, looks like I'm going to need to buy one of these so I can "troubleshoot" them.     :headscratch:

merar4

thanks for your reply.

yes i agree ;kodi has been my go to since i bought my mxq box over 2 years ago.

but recently has not been performing well.

couple days ago i did a 'fresh start' and decided to install my own favourite add ons which work ok now..

i don't know if you can help;  [read my post regarding playing usb flash drives connected to my mxq box ].

when i connect my usb music flash drive to my box it loads and displays music content but nothing opens/plays.

appreciate it.
