I had an Asus G73J that I bought new back in 2011. Loved it but it died on me a few weeks ago. I have since replaced it, because I desperately need it for work with a Dell Inspiron 15. The Asus was a good gaming laptop when it came out seven years ago. This Inspiron is supposedly a gaming laptop now. The Asus had an i7 Q720 @ 1.6ghz. The Dell has an i5 7300HQ @ 2.5ghz. So my question is obvious; is a 7th generation i5 running at 2.5ghz better than a 1st generation i7 running at 1.6ghz?
