I have an AMD-FX 8350 Eight-Core Processor 4.01 GHz
AM3+ socket CPU
16. GB ram
64 bit OS
Sabre Tooth motherboard
The computer began overheating and shutting down.
I lived with it for a while.
Any time I ran a heavy CPU program like video production it shut down or using Skype.
I was guilty of having no sidewalls in place and essentially poor cooling
I installed a $110 Cooler Master CPU system and two side wall fans.
Fan top front and back. HAK 5 case.
I installed Speedfan 4.52 to monitor fan heat.
It tells me fan #1 heats up.
I have no idea where or what fan 1 is.
As well as the core which I assume is the CPU
There is a GPU mentioned. I have no idea what that is.
It stabilized for a while but has begun shutting down with lower level functions. Youtube for example.
I believe the CPU is heat stressed, but I am not sure it is not the Motherboard or if it is part of the issue.
I can buy a new similar CPU processor for $110.
Question:
Do you agree my CPU may be damaged?
What are the chances the MB is the issue?
New computer or maintain this one?
What would a new comparable computer cost?
If this computer can be fixed to not shut down it certainly supports my needs.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks
