Please do not start new topics. You have done a great job of cleaning up your computer, but it's difficult to see what you started with since you started new topics. I will review your log and get back with you. From now on, keep everything in this thread. :tazz:

Smitfraud isn't your only problem. You have several going. Let's try fixing this one first.

You have a nasty About:Blank infection. This fix requires several tools that need to be downloaded. Please download these now, we will run them later.

1) About:Buster - Download it and extract it to C:/aboutbuster.
2) CleanUp! - Download it and install it.
3) CWShredder 2.11 - Download it and save it to your desktop.
4) Ad-Aware - Download, install, and update.

Enable hidden files and folders: http://www.bleepingc...torial=62#winme

During the fix do NOT connect to the internet. Unless you can memorize these instructions, it would be a good idea to print them out.

Boot into safe mode:
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Run AboutBuster
-Click Start to begin the process
-Click OK on the Buster Report dialogue box to start the scan
AboutBuster scans the computer for malicious files and deletes them.
Save the report (copy and paste into Notepad and save as a .txt file) to post a copy for review.

Run CWShredder
-Next, click on the: ‘Fix’ button
-Follow the prompts, and press OK

Run CleanUp
-Make sure it is on Standard Mode
-Click the "CleanUp!" button

Run Ad-Aware
-Configure Ad-Aware for a full system scan
-Run it

Clean Up the left overs

Run HJT, close any open windows, and fix the following items (if they are still there):

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://www.updatesea...earch.php?qq=%1
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.updatesearches.com/bar.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://www.updatesea...earch.php?qq=%1
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = about:blank
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = res://C:\WINDOWS\qwklc.dll/sp.html#93256
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\qwklc.dll/sp.html#93256
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.updatesea...earch.php?qq=%1
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://www.updatesea...earch.php?qq=%1
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = res://C:\WINDOWS\qwklc.dll/sp.html#93256
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://www.updatesea...earch.php?qq=%1
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = http://www.updatesearches.com/

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: Class - {AAE94F7A-D4CE-E38A-0908-B618D0066CBA} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\sdkpr.dll
O2 - BHO: VMHomepage Class - {FFFFFFFF-FFFF-FFFF-FFFF-FFFFFFFFFFFA} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\hpFE4E.tmp

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [netwz32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\netwz32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AntivirusGold] C:\Program Files\AntivirusGold\AntivirusGold.exe /h

O16 - DPF: {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608500} (Microsoft VM) - http://www.flyordie....dl/msjavx86.exe

Then delete the following files (if they exist):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\sdkpr.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\hpFE4E.tmp

Reboot into normal mode (simply restart your computer as you normally would), and run the following free, online virus scans:

http://housecall.tre.../start_corp.asp
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm
http://housecall.tre.../start_corp.asp

Then restart your computer.

Copy the part in bold below into notepad and save it as AVGoldfix.reg
Set Filetype to All Files and save it somewhere easy to find. We will use it later.

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Desktop\Components\1]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"Intel system tool"=-

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AntivirusGold]

*Click Here to download Killbox by Option^Explicit.
*Extract the program to your desktop and double-click on its folder, then double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
*In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
*Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Control-C:
C:\Windows\System32\hookdump.exe
C:\Windows\System32\winnook.exe
C:\Windows\desktop.html
C:\Windows\screen.html

*Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".
*Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt if you get one.
*If the computer does not reboot by itself, do it manually.

While your computer is restarting, tap the F8 key continually until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, then hit enter.

Doubleclick the AVGoldfix.reg we made earlier.
And (still in safe mode) use the DiskCleanup Tool to empty all your Temp folders.

Delete the entire folder C:\Program Files\AntiVirusGold

In the Control Panel click Display > Desktop > Customize desktop > Website > Uncheck "Security Info"

Then boot back to normal and post a new HJT log as well as the About:Buster log I asked you to save earlier. :tazz:

i still cant run normally. Exlporer.exe shows an application error, it 'fails to initialize properly.' then i am left with a blank blue screen (not the screen of death, its like the logon screen without anything on it.) i need to get this resolved fast...any suggestions?

I can run everything (and connect to the Net) through the task manager....but it would be nice to have my windows back :tazz:

.Download smitfraud.reg to your desktop.
- Double click the smitfraud.reg icon on your desktop.
- When it asks if you want to add the data to the registry, say Yes.

Go to the Control Panel and do the following:

- Click on the Display item.
- Click on the Desktop tab.
- Click on the Customize Desktop button.
- Click on the Web tab.
- In the Web Pages area:
--- Remove the checkmark from each item in the box.
--- Click on each item in turn and click the Delete button.
- Click the Ok button.
- Make any changes to your Desktop, Background and Themes that you want and then close the Display dialog.

Can you configure your desktop now?

Please post a fresh HJT log along with any further description you have of the 'infected' screen.

Have you been surfing the internet extensively while we've been fixing this? It's not getting better. It's getting worse. There are new programs downloaded that weren't showing up before.

Run Adaware again. Run a virus scan again and run CleanUp! again and post a new log again with the results of the virus scan.

I won't be back until later tonight.
