OK I have Win Repair all in one up and running. Which Preset do I choose? I clicked Repairs - Main, now which Preset do I choose?

Well I ran windows all in one, and it finished, and I have this blue screen that says Getting Windows ready Don't turn off your computer.
It does not look good. I am pretty heartsore. I'm on a pretty strict budget. I should be able to get a new laptop by about 2037 lol. I am on my tablet.
I really really really hope the laptop comes up but that blue screen is pretty steady.

Win 10 is pretty resilient.  If something is wrong and it can't boot, hold the power button down until it shuts down.  Usually on the third try it will boot into Safe Mode or recovery mode.

You were right, about Win10 being very resilient. Very late, about 3am, it finally rebooted. Last night I saw some errors, but this morning I didnt see the errors.

First thing today --- I am copying all my files onto a Cruzer Drive. I am doing this three times, lol.

This morning at 1130am, the laptop booted up pretty fast.

I am going to get all these files copied then I will continue with the cleaning.

Last night was pretty unnerving LOL.

The laptop is starting up pretty fast. The Google Chrome browser, which had been EXTREMELY SLOW before, it would take 3-5 minutes to open and be ready for use, is coming up in seconds.

This is the best my laptop has performed in 3 years, even better than when I first got it on Oct 30, 2015.

See if you can get a new version of Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software You have version 19.60 and it's causing an error:

Log: 'System' Date/Time: 14/12/2018 4:10:45 AM
Type: Error Category: 0
Event: 7034 Source: Service Control Manager
The Intel® PROSet/Wireless Zero Configuration Service service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s).

There are several other services failing but they may be failing because of Intel.

https://www.intel.co...networking.html

If you get the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant from the above page it should automatically update you to version 20.

Thank you very much for your responses and help, RKinner.

That Intel DSA makes installing new software very easy. That's definitely a keeper.

Do you need a VEW log?

Bing Desktop is not starting.  I'm sure we can live without it so uninstall it.

We are still getting the same Intel ProSet error so it looks like the upgrade did not help.  Let's run FRST again with Addition.txt checked and post the logs.

Bing Desktop has four really sweet pictures every day. I have screenshotted thousands of them in the past few years, lol.

I am not sure I want to part with it --- unless it is really messing up the computer.

Right now it is just causing a delay at startup.  Probably due to the Proset error so leave it but do give me a FRST scan.
