so... its a 4tb hdd. the last time i used it it was perfectly fine.
but now i put it into my new computer build as a data drive (like it was before) and boom trouble.
the hdd is currectly splt into 2 partitions. one 2048gb in raw form and the other is 1678.02gb unallocated. obviously i didnt do this.
now heres the fun part. it has 2tb of data i need to recover, so formatting isnt an opition. ive checked fror jumpers, none. ive checked my bois and it sees it for what it is. a 4tb seagate formatted in... ntfs!!!! which is what i had it as.
heres even more fun, the windows explorer cant open the disk, says it needs to be formatted, shows the 2 partitions. HOWEVER there are various window programs that actually see it as 4tb, and the drive is healthy and working normial. but yet still cant access it.
on the old computer i was recently having a viruses/malware infection that we got fixed here. the drive was not encrytped or had a password.
let me now what you guys need me to do. thank you.
thought id post something else, hdtune results ran on drive d (the trouble hdd) which is seen as 2199gb... so it looks like it can be accessed but not by myself? sigh another virus?
