sounds missing

I have lost my windows sounds. I cannot hear my recycle bin empting or msn new message.

How can i get these back?

start>settings>control panel>sounds and audiodevices>click the sounds tab and then choose your sounds scheme (windows standard settings if you want all your normal sounds back.

goto control panel and click performance and maintenance then click system goto to hardware then device manager and look to see if their is any yellow ! next to it if u find one try to reinstall it
