I have noticed whn burning photo's with Ashampoo 2019 to (play on a dvd player) that the Verbitim in the blue boxes don't show 'Finalise', as the one's in the orange box (DVD-R) do.

This is wierd, can anyone explain please?

What does it say on the blue boxes?   Are they a different type from the orange?

-R discs can only be written once.  Finalizing tells the disc that the initial write process is done.

RW discs can be reused over and over (up to 1000 times) so they do not need finalizing.

Tried both discs even after finalizing (on Ashampoo) on my dads DVD player, still says photo error.  i tried another disc which I had ran through google Picasso through Ashampoo and that worked fine.  I can't use Piccassa anymore as that doesn't exist, is there a similar programme to picassa I could use before running through Ashampoo.  This is really frustrating me as i want to be able to play my photo's on a TV, just just my PC.

Hi,

My experience with this is that DVD-R is usually best accepted by the home DVD Players.

I realize this topic is old, but while Picasa is no longer supported, and its cloud-based functions long ago ceased to function (which was fine with me) it does still work just fine as a local photo manager and all its functions other than cloud-based are continuing to work on my machines up through Windows 10 Version 1909.

I archived the installer from Google mere days before it was discontinued on my Google Drive.  Should anyone wish to use the last version, Picasa 3.9, you can snag the installer for same from the link.
