Hi-

Have an older Nvidia Quadro K2200 which has 2 display ports and a DVI-D.

I'm using the two display ports for two 24inch ASUS PA248s stacked vertically and all's well.

I do a lot of graphic, video and audio work and in the various software types for same, there are a LOT of optional and functional windows

that can be undocked and moved around. I use the TOP monitor for either full screen playback in video software OR say in audio,

for the mixing console portion of the DAW.

In my set-up, I have one monitor over the other but have room to add two little 10 inch monitors to the left and right sides.

What I envision is being able to drag some of those software utility windows down to the "little guys" (EXTEND) to free-up more space on the larger monitor.

I have a free DVI-D port on the K2200 Card. However, I see that most 10 inch monitors have VGA ports and some DP I guess. BUT...need to have TWO mini monitors.

How best, if at all possible, to add these 2 little monitors???

Could it even work in EXTEND mode and not just MIRROR?

MANY many thanks for any pro advice or thoughts!

My brain is fried by reading would-be, could be, scenarios online

and stumbled upon this marvelous site.

Hope someone might be able to steer me in the right direction........the bar? '-)

Thanks for any help, Bob

Gday and :welcome:

Yes, certainly drives you crazy as most solutions you read just don't make it clear that they work.

This set up looks like it would work to extend one main monitor to the smaller monitor, BUT, don't know if the GPU would work if you used 2 set ups.

DP to 2 DP Hub > https://www.startech...-certifications

DP to VGA > https://www.startech...roducts/dp2vga2

Possible a DP to 4 DP Hub and 2 DP to VGA. > https://www.startech...ucts/mstdp124dp

Look at the image gallery on the left, shows extended display to 4 monitor. Also watch the video for some explanations.

And Gday or Gnight to you as well... '-)

THANK you so much for taking the time to review and offer some ideas.

I'll look into both of your ideas with vigor and see the options available.

I have a note into NVIDIA but that may take a few days for a reply. Maybe, whatever

they have to say in regards to that particular card would indicate which option, you so kindly proffered,

could work best for my needs.

You stay safe and THANKS AGAIN for your time!

Best regards, Bob

Made a mistake Bob, please read my reply again as I have edited the web link for the 4 port DP adapter, as the original was incorrect.

Does that make more sense?

Unless very old, it may not be possible to find a small monitor with VGA input, You may have to go for a HDMI input and change the DP adaptor to suit, > https://www.newegg.c.../0JC-00CD-00021

Your welcome.

A big gripe of mine is how we have to pay through the nose here.

I have contacted Startech, see attachment, 4 ports adapter from one video card port looks feasible.

I am still wondering if two 2 port adapters from two video card ports would actually give more control how aplications can be displayed.

Prices on Newegg > https://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare?CompareItemList=17-707-388%2C292-002M-00014  The 2 port adapter

Do you already have the smaller screens?

Prevented from attaching file so done a copy and paste,

Hello Michael,

Thank you for contacting StarTech.com! I am happy to assist.

I have reviewed the specs on the NVidia Quadro K2200 and the maximum number of supported displays using MST is four:

https://www.nvidia.c...00_US_NV_HR.pdf

As such we expect no issues with connecting to four external displays using our MSTDP124DP.

If you have any questions please let me know!

Sincerely,

Gday.

How are you progressing with a solution for the 4 displays?   Do you need further help?

An update would be much appreciated.
