canon scanner wont scan  connected to router by network cable  computer connected to router by wi-fi

 

machine takes commands from computer to print but when trying to scan says no computer connected

 

have installed all current drivers and updates   using canon mf216n  and linux mint 20

Maybe there are some files corrupted. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver.

Hey usually when i connect canon printers to linux. you must set the printer to the same internet as linux mint. and after that open up the printer program in linux mint and see if you can get it connected from there. Side note a quick google search on your driver gave me this linux driver that you might need to install, but 9 of 10 times there is a driver already baked into linux in the linux kernel. https://www.canon.se...=linux (64-bit)
