I have a computer that was custom built for me when I was overseas (no documentation). I have a lot of problems and want to wipe everything clean and reinstall XP home. I want to boot off of the XP cd but I can't get into the BIOS to change the boot sequence. It does't read any drives when it boots. I tried all the usual keys (esc, alt, ins. etc.) in different sequence with no luck. I also stood on my head but that didn't help either. I suspect the BIOS access may be disabled.

Does anyone have any suggestions before I put a flamethrower to this thing?

Thanks

Welcome snick75 <_<

You've tried F1, F2, F10, Del, Tab and CTRL+S?

While your computer is booting, you'll probably see a splash screen listing BIOS info. To pause this screen so you can copy down the BIOS info press the "pause" key (at the right end of your F key row).

Reply with what you find. :D
