In the last week or so, a new network appeared in my Network and Internet Settings section. It's called "Network 2" and seems to be originating from the ethernet card. For the last 6-7 years, I've used only the Xfinity modem (with its own network ID) and then two years ago, added a MeshForce system, again with its own network ID.

FYI, the Xfinity modem is connected to the ethernet card in my PC, and the MeshForce is connected to the Xfinity modem. They have all been working fine so far, but system now defaults to the Network 2 network, which doesn't seem to be as fast as the other two networks.

Please see the attached pdf, showing the Network 2 (as default) and the other two available networks ("VonBerlin 2.4" is the Xfinity network and "pjsuther" is the MeshForce network).

My question is: can I delete the Network 2 so I can restore the primacy of the other two networks?

Thanks.

Network 2 is a wired connection.  The other two are wireless.  Appears you have plugged an Ethernet cable into the PC.  Unplug the cable and things should revert to normal.  Alternatively you can click on Change Adapter Options then  right click on Network 2 and Disable it.

Hi - thanks for your quick response. If I do disable Network 2, that wouldn't disable the card, correct? Thanks again.

That does disable the card but the only thing the card does is talk on the Ethernet via the cable.  Shouldn't hurt anything and if it does you can always enable it.
