I have had this problem several times.  The only solution has been to use System Restore.  What could be causing this problem and how do I fix it?  I have tried turning News and Interests on and off and restarting Outlook.  The only way to fix it is to use System Restore.  Would Event Viewer or System Reliability reveal anything?

Have you tried a repair of outlook, you can right click on the program in you installed programs list and choose repair, that may help.

Thanks.  Will try next time.  However, wondering why when it does happen, Outlook will not update and neither will News and Interests.  Seems like the two not updating is related?  How can I research this?

What is news and interest actually doing?

Outlook had the "yellow diamond" saying it could not update.  News and Interests does not update. And when I would click on it, said something like could not reach Microsoft.  The screen it links to is blank.  I realize that News and Interests may not be what anyone is interested in.  However, I am trying to troubleshoot what is causing Microsoft Outlook and News and Interests to not update at the same time.  And this has happened several times.  Is there a Microsoft class I could enroll in to figure out how to troubleshoot these items?  Or is there a way to contact Microsoft to help figure out what the problem may be?  Or do you or someone here have an idea how to troubleshoot this issue?

 

Thanks for looking into this issue.  Not able to find any common issue when I search for it.
