I am having trouble pulling up much needed sites on internet explorer. I have been working on this for a week. I have contacted the webmasters, aol helpdesk and windows helpdesk. They say it is the other ones problem so I know it is my problem. I have run autofix, deleted files, cookies, and uninstalled all programs I havenít used in 6 months. I have reinstall aol and rebuilt the aol adaptor. I have also downloaded and run all of the programs you have suggested. Please Help.

I am sooooo frustrated!!!!!!!!!
I am sending my hijack this log along with Ewido at the bottom.

Thank you
I am sorry but I do not know how to send the log. I have read everything on these pages 15 times .

Hi juantex,

Lets try downloading this registry file and amending your registry.

Download IEfix.reg and save it on your desktop.

Double click on it and merge it with your registry.

Reboot your PC and let me know how IE works now !!

You can also use alternate browsers, which are less prone to attacks by infections -

Firefox Mozilla Browser and Opera

Tampabelle,
My Explorer seems to be working for most sites but the one I need to get on is vp.crossmark.com. That is my worksite and it still will not come up. I have contacted their helpdesk and they keep telling me its on my computer since they are nationwide and not having problems with other clients. I do have Modzilla Foxfire. I use it most of the time but this particular site does not work with anything but IE. I tried the fix but it still will not work.
Thank you for all your time.

Hi Juantex,

Well I tried visiting the site using Firefox browser and it worked !!!!!!! Obviously because I didnt have the requisite user ID and password, I couldnt proceed further.

The reason why you are not able to visit the page using IE is probably because you have probably higher security settings than acceptable to the website !!! It could involve accepting cookies, or running of ActiveX elements or vb scripts etc. While you should be able to tweak the security settings of IE so as to visit this page (as you trust this site), you would be exposing yourself to possibility of infections. You can probably check with their Helpdesk as to what security / Active X or any other settings are required to visit their website or try different settings on your own !!!

Yes foxfire will bring up the page and even let me log in but I cannot work in the pages with that browser. It only accepts IE. I have been on the line with the helpdesk this morning and they have to call me back. They finally admitted to me that they are having a huge volume of calls with the exact same problem so I know now that it is their problem. All of the fixes and tweaks you have given me has helped the running of my computer so much. I really appreciate you. As you can tell I am not a techie. 60 yr old grandma who knows nothing about computers. Couldn't even use the forum correctly. I am grateful you were here to help me. Thankyou
