Desktop search,wierd ie toolbar and random pop-ups [CLOSED]

1. I have a Dell Dimension 4600 40 gig hd and 256 meg's of ram, anyway I got a wierd tool bar on the bottom right of my screen which every time my mouse goes over it it come's up. I went to run and put in msconfig and saw desktop search and canceled it off my startup list but it doesn't go away. How do I get rid of it??

2. I have switched to firefox about a year ago and when I launched my IE it had a weird tool bar that said gambeling or dating cheaptickets ETC. , well streight to the point I ned help. I dont know how this came along I have the zone alarm security suite and it should of kept it away.

3. When i am surfing on the NET on Firefox, pop-ups out of the blue just come along. It is annoying what is the solution to this.

4. What software do I need to keep my computer fast and running after these problems are solved?

5. Is zone alarm suite a good anitvirus suite??
