My computer has started to lock up when trying to open my browser after it has been closed for an hour or so. When this happens, I find errors in the event viewer log as follows:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7011
Date: 6/19/2005
Time: 5:55:52 PM
User: N/A
Computer: YOUR-03667082DE
Description:
Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the stisvc service.

There are usually a dozen of these or so in a row. I can't link this to any new software or other changes I've made in the past few weeks. Rebooting gets me going again for awhile. I have also caught my scanner turning on and off on it's own rarely but at same time everything locks up.
