Random shutdowns, lock ups [CLOSED]

Hi! We bought our presario 5424H in 2001. For the past 2 1/2 years (since we first connected to a high speed internet access), we've been experiencing random shutdowns and freezes requiring a manual restart. If I try to reboot within 15-20 minutes, the computer will crash every time. The problem has progressed to the point of shutting down 10-12 times each day, not including lockups. When I agree to the Microsoft Error Reporting, the online crash analysis says that the problem is caused by an unknown device driver. Internet Explorer randomly shuts down as well. We cannot have flash player because it worsens the problem, and the computer is pretty much worthless for more than 30 minutes at a time. I contacted microsoft's support team, who told me my only option is to restore the factory settings. I cannot do this, though, because the computer won't communicate properly with the CD drive, so I can't back up any of our vital information. I can play CDs, but not write to them. A friend told me to try your site before I lose all of my "goodies".

I've deleted off several drivers and reinstalled them (just the ones that I was familiar with, but most of them I don't recognize). I've cleaned out all the fans, blown the dust from the motherboard and everything else in there today. I've followed all of the steps you advise prior to posting the hijack this log, but I am unable to complete a virus scan because the computer locks up every time. I've tried our Avast virus software, trend's online scan, and panda's online scan to no avail. Geekstogo tech gerryf told me to go on and post a hijack this log and see what we can figure out.

As a side note, I've had 2 trojan horse warnings in the past 36 hours. I moved both to the Avast chest, then deleted them off.

Following is my hijack this log. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at it and offer suggestions to help save our information!
