Hi,

After I've read all your instructions, the downloads of required anti spyware programs didn't appear to become a possibility, since all my hyperlinks are redirected to clicksearchclick. Sorry for that.

I have run microsoft's antispyware and it removed about ten malware programs.

The only thing I'm able to do now, is posting my Hijack This log file.

Can you please help me?

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Download: DelDomains.inf
Should the link above display the text instead of downloading the file, then copy & paste the text into notepad and save the file as DellDomains.inf
To use: right-click and select: Install (no need to restart)
Note: This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone" and "Ranges" also.

Reboot into safe mode and delete:
C:\WINNT\system32\Services\{2C062B54-E1DF-4196-A18E-3BDFDF1A189D} <= entire folder
C:\WINNT\system32\win32.exe

Boot back to normal and post a new HijackThis log.

Thanx for your reaction. I cleaned some extra files by various programs (bloodhound) and I followed your directions

I couldn't find any "Services" folder in my sys32. Off course, I already made all folders visible.

No, I still receive warnings from my internet provider, telling I've sent spam. Norton is blocking some of them. Norton also warns me for some other virusses that it can't remove. It never did warn me before for them, so I get the idea that these bugs are new, but I just cleaned my complete PC with:

Norton AV 2002
Housecall
AdAware
A squared guard
Hitman Pro
TDS 3
Spybot
CleanUp
CW Shredder
Microsoft Anti Spyware
DelDomains

I think the suspected files are
vxh8jhdq5.exe
vxh8jhdq6.exe
vxh8jhdq7.exe
vxgame4.exe
csrss.exe (all in system32)

and svchost.exe (in winnt\system folder). That's where Norton warns me for. It tells that these are "PWSteal.Trojans" and "Backdoor.Shellbots". Can I delete them in safe mode or will quarantaining only do the job, without getting notifications all the time that some action is blocked because of its quarantaine?

Just in case, here's a new log:

That depends if these are files that were placed on your system or if they have altered system files.

If Norton is the only program warning you, run a full system scan in safe mode.

Let me know the results in this format please:

full path to the filename == name of the virus

For example:
C:\WINNT\system32\vxh8jhdq5.exe == PWSteal.Trojan

I will post it tomorrow (saturday in Holland; you are Dutch, aren't you?). After that post, I am on a holiday for two weeks. I won't read your reaction until then. Just to notice you, so please don't close the topic until the 27th.

Ok That doesn't look as if any system files were infected.

When you get back from vacation:

Download smitRem.zip and save the file to your desktop.
Right click on the file and extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.

Place a shortcut to Panda ActiveScan on your desktop.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Please read Ewido Setup Instructions
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

If you have not already installed Ad-Aware SE 1.06, follow these download and setup instructions, otherwise, check for updates:
Ad-Aware SE Setup
Don't run it yet!

Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
Now scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to each of the following item:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WindowsUpdate] C:\WINNT\System\svchost.exe /s

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

Open Ad-aware and do a full scan. Remove all it finds.

Run Ewido:
  • Click on scanner
  • Click Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • During the scan it will prompt you to clean files, click OK
  • When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a check in the lower left corner of the box that says "Perform action on all infections" then choose clean and click OK.
  • When the scan is finished, click the Save report button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Save the report to your desktop
Close Ewido

Next go to Control Panel click Display > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Website > Uncheck "Security Info" if present.

Reboot back into Windows and click the Panda ActiveScan shortcut, then do a full system scan. Make sure the autoclean box is checked!
Save the scan log and post it along with a new HijackThis Log, the contents of the smitfiles.txt log and the Ewido Log by using Add Reply.
Let us know if any problems persist.

Panda log:

not found, but no threats or virusses

All seems to function normally. Thanx for the support (if you wouldn't find anything weird in the log files). I think the problem was in the free version of Kazaa on my computer. Would you think the paid version would be free of spyware installations, or is the problem in the shared files, accessible to anyone on the internet? What would be wise to do?

The sharing of files online is a risk, no matter how you do it.

But I would certainly not recommend anyone to install the full KaZaa bundle with all the spy-, ad- and other unwanted-ware it comes with.

Your logs are clean. :tazz:

Please have a look at my site for some tips on how to remove and prevent spyware.
