I tried downloading the above file and it says it is damaged. I am not computer savy and I am about to pull my hair out if I do not fix this darn machine. I have even paid $40 for antivirus software and it still did not remove the wallpaper. I cannot change it and there is a red icon my the time in my toolbar telling me I am infected. NO SH*T! Please help!!!!

Thanks,
Michaela, frustrated and wanting to pay bills and go to bed before my 6 month old wakes up for a feeding.

Hey,
I have a similar problem. I am also running xp home. When I switch my computer on, the picture I have set as the background flashes for about a second, and then flashed back to a white background. My browse button isn't frozen though, and I can select a picture for my background, but once applied my desktop just stays white. I can select a colour for my background but that only changes the colour of the text boxes associated with the icons, and the background stays white. It's like there's a white panel blocking me from seeing my background. Would this problem require the same download to fix? Can someone please help me to get rid of it?

Thanks,
L_Shep

Good day to all...
Im having a hard time changing my desktop... My desktop was changed into something black with texts saying: "warning, your computer is infected with viruses"... some sort of like that. I tried the fixreg file... it didnt work. When I go to the properties of my desktop, the only tab there are screen saver and settings. I'v used a lot of anti-spyware softwares, but still, i cant change my background. Also, my home page was turned to about:blank and I can't go to Yahoo homepage. I am always redirected to about: blank... Please, somebody help me... Huhuhuhu..... :tazz:

Thank you very much...

:tazz: Now that you saved us all mind telling us what registry entry you changed to get us back and running. I had the same problem and the programs took out the trojan but would not restore my display tabs. Just curious ... But thanks just the same if you prefer not to share!

Those Reg file downloads worked perfectly. SpySheriff was the problem with mine, too.

I have just removed some spyware, malware from my comp. Everything is normal except for the desktop background - which is completely white. I downloaded and tried the fix posted in this thread but I get the following message after extracting and trying to run the files:

Cannot import - The specified file is not a registry script. You can import only registry files. :tazz:

Any help would be very much appreciated!
