My laptop (HP pavilion ze4610) came with Windows XP installed. I wanted to try out Linux so I installed Fedora Core 4, but I found out it wasn't for me and want to switch back to XP.

My problem is that XP won't install. It gets as far as "Setup is checking your hardware configuration" then the screen turns black and nothing happens. I let it run for a while (at least an hour) because I thought it might just be incredibly slow for some reason, but nothing happens.

Any ideas?

Nope. I tried a few times, but it won't see the bootdisk at all.
