Help me please I believe that I have a virus or something i have went through and downloaded clean up, ad-aware,cw shredder,spybot s&d,ewido,did a trend housecall scan, AVG,TDS-3, windows update 1, and then Hijack. my AVG has to different types of trojan backdoor in the virus vault. should i release them in order for it to be fixed? I am not quite sure how to get rid of them out of there because everytime i go to delete it tells me that they will go back to normal?????Please can you help me get my computer back to normal. Please disable SpybotSD’s protection, as it may hinder the removal of the infection. You can enable it after you're clean.

Open Spybot and click on Mode and check Advanced Mode
Check yes to next window.
Click on Tools in bottom left hand corner.
Click on System Startup icon.
Uncheck Teatimer box and/or Uncheck Resident.
Click Allow Change box.

Also disable AntiSpyware for the duration of the advise.

Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Click on Options, Settings.
In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
Under Startup Options uncheck: Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck: Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.

Go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok
Scroll down and find the service called:

Network DDE Client

When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok and close any open windows.

Open HijackThis to the misc tools section and click the Delete an NT Sevice button. Paste in
NetDDEclnt
and click OK.

Download the Killbox.
Unzip it to the desktop

Double-click Killbox.exe to run it.

Select "Delete on Reboot".
Place the following line (complete path) in bold in the "Full Path of File to Delete" box in Killbox:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\netddeclnt.exe

Put a mark next to "Delete on Reboot"
Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

Please download ewido security suite it is a trial version of the program.

• Install ewido security suite
• When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
• Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
• The program will prompt you to update click the OK button
• The program will now go to the main screen

You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.

• On the left hand side of the main screen click update
• Click on Start

The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
Once the updates are installed do the following:

• Click on scanner
• Make sure the following boxes are checked before scanning:
  • Binder
  • Crypter
  • Archives
• Click on Start Scan
• Let the program scan the machine

While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report

• Click Save report
• Save the report to your desktop

Reboot your machine and post back a new HJT log and the ewido.txt log file you saved by using Add Reply.

I am not very computer savvy so hopefully i have done everything right!!!!!
I do have a couple of questions----After the computer is fixed can I uninstall everything I installed or should I leave it all on here? What is the best type of all around protection I can purchase? What should I do with the two viruses in the virus vault(trojan backdoor) or will they be gone after everything is all said and done? I greatly appreciate all of the help you are giving me considering that last week DELL had me remove everything and reinstall it and I am still having the problem. God Bless you All for taking the time to help us less knowlegdable ones. One more question when i do the ewido scan the only it is scanning is the c drive should i hit the everything + button or is this fine????

I'll give you some advise when we are done cleaning.

The HijackThis log looks clean to me.

Make sure all disks are selected in Ewido so it will scan the whole computer. Also make sure to run it in safe mode.

Inside AVG you should be able to delete the items in the vault.


Check to see is Ewido selected everything, if not, rescan and repost the result.

Now that you are clean, please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:

• Use an AntiVirus Software - It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future.

• Update your AntiVirus Software - It is imperitive that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.
  
  
• Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is succeptible to being hacked and taken over. I am very serious about this and see it happen almost every day with my clients. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly.

• Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.
  
  
• Install Spybot - Search and Destroy - Install and download Spybot - Search and Destroy with its TeaTimer option. This will provide realtime spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software.

• Install Ad-Aware - Install and download Ad-Aware. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software in conjunction with Spybot.

• Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.

• Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.

Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.
