Using IE 6 SP2 for Windows XP - MS Wndows Update page comes back blank - with 'done' as comment. All other MS update pages are accessable. Example MS Office etc

My computer has recently been infected by SmitFraud virus but I believe all is clear now. I have Panda Platinum AV software running.

Visited MS site for IE repair and followed all settings recommended. However I think that
the problem must lie with virus caused corruptions.

All help appreciated.
