3. Please DELETE your current HJT program from its present location.

4. Download and run the following HijackThis autoinstall program from Here HJT needs to be in its own folder so that the program itself isn't deleted by accident. Having the backups could be VITAL to restoring your system if something went wrong in the FIX process!

5. With HJT in its new location, please UNINSTALL WinTools through the Add/Remove feature of your Control Panel.

6. Using Windows Explorer, please DELETE the following folder and all its content:

C:\Program\Files\WinTools

7. REBOOT your system

8 SCAN with HJT and SAVE LOG. (a notepad window will open with the log in it when you click Save Log) (Ctrl-A to'select all', Ctrl-C to 'copy')

9. POST the log in this thread using 'Add Reply' (Ctrl-V to 'paste')


DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES OR CLICK "FIX CHECKED" UNTIL WE CHECK THE LOG, AS MOST OF THE FILES ARE LEGIT AND VITAL TO THE FUNCTION OF YOUR COMPUTER

We must stop, disable and delete an added service (023)

1. To stop a service and set to 'disabled'

Go to Start > Run and type in Services.msc then click OK

Click the Extended tab.

Scroll down until you find the service.

Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Click once on the service to highlight it.

Click Stop

Right-Click on the service.

Click on 'Properties'

Select the 'General' tab

Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side on the 'Start-up Type' box

From the drop-down menu, click on 'Disabled'

Click the 'Apply' tab, then click 'OK'

The service is now stopped and disabled.


2. We will now delete the service:

1. Open HJT
2. Click on Config>>Misc Tools>>Delete an NT Service
3. Type SvcProc in the space provided and click OK
4. The program will ask you to REBOOT --- Accept

5. REBOOT into SAFE MODE

6. Using Windows Explorer, locate and DELETE the following file (if it still is present):

C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

7. REBOOT back into Normal Mode

8. Finally, run HijackThis, click SCAN, produce a LOG and POST it in this thread for review.

Here are 2 different ways to get into Safe Mode. Most people prefer the first.

1. How to use the F8 method to Start Your Computer in Safe Mode

*Restart the computer.
*as soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
*Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
*press Enter.

2. How to use the System Configuration Utility method to Start Your Computer in Safe Mode in XP

*Close all open programs.
*Click Start, and then click Run. The Run dialog box appear and in the box type 'msconfig' (without the quotes)
*click OK.
*The System Configuration Utility appears
*Out a check mark beside the "/SAFEBOOT" option
*click OK.
*Click Restart.The computer restarts in Safe mode.

*when finished troubleshooting repeat steps 1-3
*in step 4, uncheck "/SAFEBOOT"
*click OK
*close all programs
*restart the computer as you normally would

Go to start>control panel>folder options>view (tab)
*choose to "show hidden files and folders,"

We must stop, disable and delete an added service (023)

1. To stop a service and set to 'disabled'

Go to Start > Run and type in Services.msc then click OK

Click the Extended tab.

Scroll down until you find the service.

Service: Windows VisFx Components - Unknown owner

Click once on the service to highlight it.

Click Stop

Right-Click on the service.

Click on 'Properties'

Select the 'General' tab

Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side on the 'Start-up Type' box

From the drop-down menu, click on 'Disabled'

Click the 'Apply' tab, then click 'OK'

The service is now stopped and disabled.


2. We will now delete the service:

1. Open HJT
2. Click on Config>>Misc Tools>>Delete an NT Service
3. Type Windows VisFx Components in the space provided and click OK
4. The program will ask you to REBOOT --- Accept

5. REBOOT into SAFE MODE

6. Using Windows Explorer, locate and DELETE the following file (if it still is present):

C:\WINDOWS\eahmsvc.exe

7. REBOOT back into Normal Mode

8. Finally, run HijackThis, click SCAN, produce a LOG and POST it in this thread for review.

We are nearly there !!

1. Run HJT, Scan and place a checkmark beside the following item:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {6299F8E1-F67D-4684-70A5-18E1C04E8C6E} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\inscdm\kdcakqklhx.dll

Now, with all windows closed, click Fix checked and EXIT HJT.

2. REBOOT your system into Safe Mode

3. We need to make all files and folders VISIBLE:
Go to start>control panel>folder options>view (tab)
*choose to "show hidden files and folders,"
*uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" and the "hide extensions for know file types" boxes.
*Close the window with ok
*All hidden files will now be visible

4. Using Windows Explorer, locate and DELETE the following folder:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\inscdm

5. REBOOT back ito Normal Mode

6. I need you to download MWav to a convenient location.

This scan might take around 3+ hours to finish when set to scan everything.
I need you to run MWav by double-clicking on mwav.exe. This scan only produces a report, it doesn't clean your system. I will analyze the report and recommend a course of action depending on the results.

Put a check next to the below items before scanning:

• Memory
• Startup Folders
• Drive - All Local Drives
• Folder - then click "browse" to change the directory to C: (default is C:\Windows)
• Registry
• System Folders
• Services
• Include Sub-Directory
• Scan All Files

Please make sure ALL of these are checked, then press the Scan button. This typically will take hours to complete.

**NOTE*** Sometimes MWav will pause and it appears to be finished, but it isn't done. Just let it run until it says it's complete.

On the bottom portion of the window, you will see the lower panel where MWav is listing "infected items", please highlight everything in that lower panel and copy them by holding CTRL + C then paste it here. The whole log will be extremely BIG so there is no way to post the log. I just need the infected items list.

7. Finally, run HijackThis, click SCAN, produce a LOG and POST it in this thread for review as well as the MWav log.

when I run an HJT scan. I do have O2 - BHO: (no name) - {69CCC83C-0069-EE9C-3FD2-EAE130B73F0A} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\inscdm\kdcakqklhx.dll which has the same file path -- is this what I want to "fix?" I want to be sure before I delete files. THanks! Penny
