i hve 2 pc's networked both using xp pro. They can bot see each other on the network but when i try to connect to them it comes up with a connection box asking for a username and password, i havent put 1 in, and its really getting on my nerves trying 2 copy files. Is there any way to remove this?

if you need any more info just ask

P.S. ive looked for a similar post and couldn't find one.

Well, if the login box popping up is asking for a username and password, then you would want to enter the username and pass for the administrator of the machine you want to get into. If that is the case, then just create a user on the machine you are copying from that is the exact username and password as the machine you are trying to copy to and log in with that user, that should stop the logon process.

If it's giving username as Guest, and only asking for PW, then I have not yet figured that one out. That shouldn't be happening, but it is.
