windows media player doesnt work. i even tried updating to wmp9. even the old windows media player wont work. i've seen this problem a few times but no one solves it.

heres what happens: i open it, it starts loading, and then the computer freezes.

other programs on my computer started doin the same thing at the same time. aim will begin loading, and i can ctrl+alt+del and close it, but soon after the comp freezes

RealPlayer works, Windows Media Player doesnt
Yahoo! Messenger works, AOL Instant Messenger doesnt
etc.

whats goin on? in need of assistance
