This sounds stupid but how do I find out what sort of video card I have? I say this because I just installed 'The Sims 2' and it went fine before I tried to start the game up. It said that it could not start because Direct 9.0c could not find a compatible video/graphics card. How do I found out what sort of video and sound card I have?

Yay. Now I have no sound either.

I really don't know why, but now my computer makes no sound at all. My speakers work, because if I turn them right up you can hear the static, and if I minimize a window there is a dip in the static - so the computer is connected to the speakers.

I will be able to keep this from my parents for a while, but one day my dad will want to listen to some music......then he finds out. Please help! Do you need my Hijack This? If so, I will post it in a third reply.
