Hi,
This is my first post, so I hope I get it right.
I am running windows XP. My drive is partitioned with 4 different users.
I have a problem with "Favorites" on all drives. Every time I open Explorer I get a Toolbar with:
adult gambling
free online dating
f---real girls
online sex poker
plus a few others

I have managed to remove it from my drive, but cannot remove it from the other drives. I also get popups for "poker" and "adult friend finder" on all drives.

Also have trouble when logging off from drive G. The computer freezes.
Seems to be running very slow also.

I have run just about every program that I have found on the Net, but still no luck.
Will attach Hijack This File, plus Ewido file.

Please Help!

I have run every spyware and anti-virus program that I could find, but it is still the same, nothing seems to work. Please help.

Thanks for the reply Dismount,

Yes, I have done everything that was asked, plus more but still no luck.
Don't know what to try next.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Please Click here!, and follow the recommendations in the guide.

If you're still having trouble, We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool, Hijack This. Follow the instructions in step five of this guide, and post your log as a new topic in the Hijack This forum. It will get a better response there from the people most qualified to analyze logs.

Most of what Hijack This lists lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

Thanks for the reply Coachwife6,

I have already followed all those instructions that you mentioned, with no luck.
In my original post I put a Hijack This log with my post, but did not receive a reply, that is why I posted in this section.

I will put in a new post and see how I go.

Thanks

Hmm. I have found every one of your posts and I don't see a hijack this log. Please download it and run it and post it here in this thread.

I need to see a log run recently. Malware picks up a lot of baddies along the way and it may have changed in five days. :tazz: Thanks. I'm turning in, but will check for it tomorrow. ;)

Yes, you are right Coachwife6. I thought I had put in the Hijack This log, but I obviously did something wrong.

Here is the Log from Hijack This and Ewido.
Thanks for your help and time.

There are quite a few programs available that offer protection features to help keep a computer from getting infected. While this is normally a helpful feature, it can keep a victim from making the changes necessary to clean their comptuer. Please read the following and uninstall or disable those that apply to your machine.

These programs need to be uninstalled

AdWatch

These programs can just be disabled

Microsoft Antispyware
TeaTimer
SpySweeper
Win Patrol
Spyware Guard
PSGuard
Pestpatrol
Regrun
Diamonds Process controller

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

Hi Coachwife6,

Everything seemed to be fine until I shut the computer down for the night and then tried to start it the next day.

It came up with BOOT failure, Insert rescue disk.
Tried putting in an old rescue disk I had, but it did not work.
Can't start in safe mode or get into bios either.

Any ideas?

I saw you already posted in the 2000, xp forum. That's probably your best bet. I may try to see if someone knows what to do, but that's not my area of expertise.
