Are you using Linksys for either? Check your event logs, you may just need to reinstall the network adapter drivers.

Did you check your event logs to see if you are getting errors?

In your control panel you will see an icon that says "Administrative Tools", open it, in there you should see an "Event Viewer", open that, there are several different types of logs there that should be recording errors such as the one you describe.

Description: DCOM got error "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it." attempting to start the service helpsvc with arguments "" in order to run the server: {833E4012-AFF7-4AC3-AAC2-9F24C1457BCE}
