I need some help,
My anti virus software just deleted windows explorer. I can't find it anywhere. When I start up my computer the only thing that shows is my wallpaper. I can't get to my trash to recover anything since all I have is the blank screen. Thanks for any advise you are willing to throw my direction.

Did you try to go to the Visualization options, where you change your wallpaper?

On that window there is a button stating something like personalize desktop or something similar(sorry my windows is in Portuguese so i can´t be sure)

In there you´ll have some boxes to select the icons from windows you want on your desktop

The only way I am able to access anything is through my task manager.

ok check if you have 2 files named explorer.exe in your main hd(c:\ or whatever name) and in the system32 folder

If so there is a trojan that creates this files which leads to the problem that you´re having now

When i search in the task manager, it says the file cannot be found. I just found my microsoft xp cd and I am in the process of trying to get the explorer back.
