My windows 98 computer isnt getting into windows, instead it's saying the file ".\iosubsys" subdirectory is corrupt. I would really appreciate any help I can get :tazz: I posted about a problem with a trojan and spyware problems already in this topic (http://www.geekstogo...ST&f=37&t=40200), but before I was able to try out the recommended fixes my computer stopped booting correctly because of a corrupt file.

iosubsys is a subfolder of system. It has not subfolders itself. the file path is

C:\windows\system\iosubsys\

What file or files in iosubsys are corrupt? You may just have to put them on a boot disk and copy them to the folder. If you can get into safe mode, press the F8 key while booting, you can run System File Checker. Go to Start>Run, type in sfc and hit OK.
