Hi all,

I have a Dell Laptop C640, running on Windows XP, 1gb ram, and i just recently got a c/dock II for the laptop so i can put in 2 pci cards. I just put in my Hercules 4000XT 64mb PCI card in the dock, and installed drivers. It works normally, but when i load anything to do with Direct 3D i get an error message saying it can't load.

I ran a test in dxdiag, and these are the results:

Direct3D 7 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x80004005 (Generic failure)
Direct3D 8 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8876086c (error code)
Direct3D 9 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8876086c (error code)

Test 9 did JUST work, but then i restarted, and now its not working.

I've been trying to figure out the problem for days now and i'm at my wits end, help me please!! :tazz:

Many Thanks
David
