create a restore point before patching into SP2. SP2 add many modules into your PC, you can't predict what problems might occur. We had a new HP PC's despatched to our company and by installing the SP2 it froze the system, some applications such as MS Outlook wasn't working properly etc.

My personal PC at home never gave me any problems and I have built it myself.

Do a backup for your system then install the SP2, so if it didn't work then you can restore back to before SP2.
