when i start the computer it will go through the windows 98 loading page then it says the my system is missing the system.ini file and i need to run windows setup to reinstall it. then when you hit any button it automatically shuts down. i have a floppy boot disk but no cd-rom and when i try to run scanreg/restore it wont let me because i think it needs to load the file from a cd-rom. am i wrong, do i need the cd-rom, or is there any other way that i can resolve this problem because i cannot get onto windows whatsoever

PLEASE HELP THANK YOU!!!!

Howdy and welcome to G2G

Try this..

1: Boot using your Win98 boot floppy..

2: When you get to a:>/ prompt, type in sys c: and press <enter>

3: Wait for the prompt to get back to a:>/ prompt..

4: Pop the floppy and reboot..
