RIGHT-CLICK HERE and go to Save As (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download the smitfraud reg to your desktop.

Double-click smitfraud.reg on your desktop. When asked if you want to merge with the registry click YES.

After the merged successfully prompt we need to check some Internet Settings. Go to Start > Connect to > Show all connections. Right-click on your default Internet Connection and go to Properties.
Click the "Networking" tab. Click "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)", then click "properties". Please select:

Obtain DNS Server address automatically

Click OK, then click OK.

Reboot your computer - you will not have desktop tabs back. Post a new HiJackThis log.

I can change my desktop now..and everything seems to be working fine. AntiVir Guard has stopped popping up with Trjoan attacks.

Just one more question, what can I do to prevent this happening again? And malware in general.

Also, when I click on Windows Firewall (in Control Panel), it pops up saying "Due to an unidentified problem Windows cannot display Firewall settings."

Is this normal? My firewall should be up, shouldn't it?

Let's check to see if it is disabled.

Go to Start > Run - type:

services.msc

Click OK.

Scroll down and find "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing" Double-click on it and make sure it's started and set to automatic (on the General tab). If it's stopped, click "start" and change the startup type to automatic if it isn't. Let me know
