Unzip it to the desktop but do NOT run it yet.

Download CleanUp!.
If that doesn’t work, use this link.

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows:
*Click "Options..."
*Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
*Put a check next to the following:

• Empty Recycle Bins
• Delete Cookies
• Delete Prefetch files
• Scan local drives for temporary files
• Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

Once it's done, press Close. Reboot the system. This will remove files that were in use during the scan.

Update Ewido to the latest definitions.

Go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok
Scroll down and find the service called:

.NET Framework Service

When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok and close any open windows.

Open HijackThis to the misc tools section and click the Delete an NT Sevice button. Paste in

.NET Connection Service

and click OK.
press 'back' and 'scan'.

2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.

It "seems" to be running ok now. Shoudl i Run another hijack this log for you too look at? And what are you opinions on using Lime Wire as a musci downlaod program... I think thats where the worm came from.

Current versions of Limewire are clean. Older versions bundled spyware.

Check this info for possible alternatives.

The HijackThis log looked OK, Ewido cleaned what it found.

You could defragment the disk to speed things up a bit.

please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:

• Disable and Enable System Restore. - If you are using Windows ME or XP then you should disable and reenable system restore to make sure there are no infected files found in a restore point.

• Make your Internet Explorer more secure - This can be done by following these simple instructions:
  • From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
  • Click once on the Security tab
  • Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
  • Click once on the Custom Level button.
    
    • Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
    • Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
    • Change the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
    • Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
    • Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
    • Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
    • When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
    • If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.
  • Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.
• Use an AntiVirus Software - It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future.

• Install Spybot - Search and Destroy - Install and download Spybot - Search and Destroy with its TeaTimer option. This will provide realtime spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection.
