Download L2mfix from this location:

http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

In the top section of the Process Exlporer screen double click on winlogon.exe to bring up the winlogon.exe properties screen.
Click on the Threads tab at the top.

Once you see this screen click on each instance of q8076734_disk.dll once and then click the kill button.

After you have killed all of the q8076734_disk.dll's under winlogon click OK.

Next double click on explorer.exe and again click once on each instance of q8076734_disk.dll then click the kill button.
Click on the Threads tab at the top.

Once you have done that click OK again.

5. Next run HijackThis and place a check beside the following.


O20 - Winlogon Notify: style2 - C:\WINDOWS\q8076734_disk.dll

Now click fix checked and close HijackThis.


6. Double click on Killbox.exe and then check the delete on reboot button.

Enter the following filepath and filename into the Full path of file to delete box

C:\WINDOWS\q8076734_disk.dll

Click the red circle with the white x and allow your computer to reboot.

After your computer has rebooted please run Hijackthis again and post a new HijackThis log.

Hi Trevuren, I have been away for hlf a day sorry for delay..

OK well I downloaded Process Explorer and Kill Box. I ran Process in Safe mode (without networking support) but there is no sign of this q8076734.dll I did get a message about something not support microsoft symbols when i ran Process Explorer so I downloaded the Windows 32 bit tools pack from Microsoft although I am not sure it has made much difference to the result as Process Explorer threads did not show any sign of q8076734... I have not therefore run killbox either.
