We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.

Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.

Some hijacks interfere with the installation of Service Pack 2, so we'll hold of for now. When we're finished cleaning your computer we highly recommend installing SP2. Click here: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/.

I tried downloading SP1a and even SP2... I download the program succesfully but when windows restarts I can't get back in windows as I have a "winlogon error" and comdlg32.dll is not found. I then try putting in the windows xp cd and do a repair. It seems it re-instals windows but I don't know if the SP is still valid?
Can I delet the WSEM and then install SP1a or SP2?

Try this first. Put xp disc in drive, click start, run, type "sfc.exe /scannow" (without quotes) and it should fix any corrupted or missing files.
If that doesn't work:
Try downloading the file here:

Put it here:

Try again. Does the service pack install? Or will it not even install after you double click it.

the service pack installs it's only when windows restarts (after the install) that I can't get in windows. May be I should do something after the install but before restarting the pc?

The file (www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?comdlg32]http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?comdlg32) wont install it always brings me back to the same web page as soon as I click on download. It's the same when I go to microsoft downloads it doesn't let me in.

I can't find the file sfc.exe? is it on the cd?

windows cannot find 'sfc.exe/scannow'. Make sure you typed the name correctly then try again. To search for a file click the start button and then click search

You say you have done the repair install too? I'd try it again. Put the disk in and boot to the Setup screen. Pick install windows xp. then press F8 to accept the EULA. Next press R and do a repair install. Then once that is complete download and install service pack 1.

If that doesn't work, I'm gonna have to get some backup to help me out with this.
