Copy the filepaths below and paste them into notepad. Save it to desktop

C:\WINDOWS\minigolf_affiliate.exe
C:\WINDOWS\weirdontheweb_topc.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SahImages
C:\Program Files\WareOut

* Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit. *In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.
Unzip it to the desktop.

Open Notepad, and copy everything in the code box below and paste it into a new notepad file. Change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as fixme.reg on your Desktop. Make sure there is NO blank line above "REGEDIT4"!

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\MODULEUSAGE\C:/WINDOWS/DOWNLOADED PROGRAM FILES/MEDIAACCX.DLL]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\WAREOUT]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser\{08BEC6AA-49FC-4379-3587-4B21E286C19E}]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{48E59292-9880-11CF-9754-00AA00C00908}]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser\{44BE0690-5429-47f0-85BB-3FFD8020233E}]

Locate fixme.reg on your Desktop and double-click on it. When it asks if you want to merge with the registry, click YES.

Reboot your computer INTO safe mode.

Rescan with HJT and check the following entries if present:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://www.find-more.net/sp.htm
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://uk.red.client...fo/bt_side.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://uk.red.client...arch.yahoo.com/
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://uk.red.client...arch.yahoo.com/
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,SearchURL = http://www.find-more.net/sp.htm
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WareOut] "C:\Program Files\WareOut\WareOut.exe"

Ensure no windows open except HJT and click fix checked.

* Please run Killbox.

* Select "Delete on Reboot".

* Open the Notepad file where you saved the file paths earlier and copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing CTRL + C:

* Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".

* Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

Rescan with HJT and post the log back

:tazz:

Here we go again.

Ensure pc setup to show hidden files

* Please run Killbox.

* Select "Delete on Reboot".

* Copy and paste the following filepath into killbox.

C:\Program Files\WareOut

* Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.Whilst your pc is restrting tap the F8 key to boot into Safe Mode.

Please run about:buster by RubbeRDuckY:
Click Start and then OK to allow AboutBuster to scan for Alternate Data Streams.
Click Yes to allow it to shutdown explorer.exe.
It will begin to check your computer for malicious files. If it asks if you would like to do a second pass, allow it to do so.
When it has finished, click Save Log. Make sure you save it as I may need a copy of it later.
Reboot your computer into safe mode again

Run about:buster again following the same instructions as above, this time without the restart at the end

Now run CWShredder. Click I Agree, then Fix and then Next, let it fix everything it asks about.

Now run SpSeHjfix. A log will be saved in the same folder that you put the exe into. Please post the results of that log in your next reply.

Warning Note: On a few occasions it has been reported that after using the SPSEHjfix you cannot open Internet Explorer. To fix this, go into Control Panel >Internet Options >Programs & press reset web settings, then you can set your home page to what you want on the general tab.

Now run Ewido. click on the full system scan button, Select drives if you have more than one and then start.

grab a cup of coffee, sandwiches, book as this may take some time. Once the first problem is detected ensure you tick the box for all (bottom left) and allow it to continue.

At the end of the scan, it may ask if you would like to delete anything found in archive or zipped files, OK that request, then click on save report. SAVE to the default location, it will then generate a text file. Copy that to post in this thread.

Now scan with HJT and check the following entries if they are there. Some may have been removed by earlier

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://www.find-more.net/sp.htm
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://uk.red.client...fo/bt_side.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://uk.red.client...arch.yahoo.com/
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://uk.red.client...arch.yahoo.com/
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,SearchURL = http://www.find-more.net/sp.htm
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WareOut] "C:\Program Files\WareOut\WareOut.exe"

Ensure no windows open except HJT and click fix checked.

Reboot into normal mode.

Please download RKFiles from here:
http://skads.org/special/rkfiles.zip
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping F8 until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.

Once in Safe Mode, please run RKFiles.bat. It may take a while. When it is finished a windows should appear with a log.

Restart your computer in normal mode.

Rescan with HJT and post all the requested logs back. The RKfiles log, should be at c:\log.txt

Reboot pc into safe mode, rescan with HJT and check the following:

Ensure no windows open except HJT and click fix checked.

Reboot normally, rescan with HJT and post the log back

From your log, I see nothing in the ways of trojans, nor any evil entities attempting to possess your computer, except for Windows but it's too late for that one. :tazz:

Congratulations your log now appears to be clean. ;)

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:

Detect and Remove Programs:
  • How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
  • How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.
Prevention Programs:
  • Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your coputer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
  • Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.
Other necessary Programs:
  • AntiVirus Program<= An AntiVirus program is a must! Whether it is a free version like AVG or Anti-Vir, or a shareware version like Norton or Kapersky, this is a must have.
  • Firewall<= A firewall is definatley a must have. Two good free versions are Sygate and ZoneLabs.
  • More Secure Browser<= Internet Explorer is not the most secure and best browser. There are safer and better alternatives available. I recommend Firefox, however Opera and SlimBrowsers are good as well.
And also see TonyKlein's good advice
So how did I get infected in the first place? and AntiSpyware Net's spyware article: Spyware, Adware, Malware: What it is, how it got on my computer, how to get rid of it, and how to prevent it.
