Everytime I start up I get an annoying error - I just click "ignore" or "close" and it goes away.

This is the error:
16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem

c:\DOCUME~1\ALLUSE~1\STARTM~1\Programs\Startup\winlogon.exe
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.

I don't think this is a big problem, but it's been happening for about 6 months now and it's just an inconvenience.

Any ideas?

Click on the Start button, trace your way through All Programs to the Startup folder. What shortcuts are listed there? Most likely you will find one either named winlogon.exe or pointing to it. Delete that shortcut and the error will go away.
