A short time ago, I minimized my OE 6 e-mail, and noticed a popup on my desktop. It was entitled "Yield Manager". I'm wondering where the heck it came from.

I run XP Home-SP2 and have never seen this ad before. I did a Start\Search and found 4 entries (two temp files, one cookie a folder which just led to the cookie). I deleted all four, did another search and came up empty.

The only changes to my PC today, would have been updates (Sun Java, AVG and Bazooka). I run and update the following: Zone Alarm firewall, spywareblaster, spywareguard, Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, spyaudit1, Ccleaner, Gould's CleanUp, ewido security suite, Win Patrol, mrublaster, Window Washer and use Trend Micro Housecall and Panda for virus scans.

How and the heck would it have gotten there?

I also opened a few e-mails from reliable companies and friends, but didn't notice this until after the Sun Java update. But even then, after my updates were finished I ran Clean-Up and did a reboot from that program and nothing showed on the desktop.

Please advise.

Thanks ilago, for all the advice.

This is a low-prority HJT log file. My PC is running fine. It's just a problem concerning "Yield Manager".

Please take a look, when you have time.

Thanks to all her at geeks to go.com.

Just wondering if I did this right, It's been awhile since I posted the hjt. I realize this is a busy place and that mine is not high priority.

Thanks.

Hi rgsmile

I'm sorry I've taken so long to get back to you, I had an unexpected illness which kept me offline for quite a while :tazz:

As it has been two weeks could you post a new HijackThis log so it's fully up to date and my response will be appropriate.

Thanks for the response. I'll patiently wait. Not sure there is anything wrong, anyway, but then I'm no expert.
