I have a IBM T22 Laptop. When I press the power button, the Windows XP splash screen comes up and then the laptop will poweroff. I had thought it may be the battery but I have it plugged directly into the wall and it still happens. The laptop is also very hot to the touch. What can I do to resolve this problem?

Is the fan running?

Download motherboard monitor and check the temps.

Also post at Thinkpads.com and ask other T22 users what they think about your temps. http://forum.thinkpa...ewforum.php?f=2
