Thanks to Coachwife, jonnyrotten and all others who helped over the past few weeks, but Im still having some problems so Im reformatting.

I have a friend who works in a PC shop so he will be able to do it, but heres where I need a few pointers:

I only have Windows XP disc, nothing else. What should i download as soon as I have XP installed? Service pack 1? 1a?

I have the disk for SP2 but not sure if I should load it on. At any rate, dont I have to ahve all the previous updates before I can install SP2, or do I?

Having installed XP, and to make sure this time I dont get viruses and trojans like I did a few weeks ago (from surfing for 3-4 days unprotected!) I will first install Norton System Works 2002 and then get its updates. Then Adaware and Spybot, THEN whatever updates of XP Im going to use.

I have decided n Norton instead of AVG, as I have Norton disk and will get free upgrades for a year. Wise..??

Am I going about this correctly, or what way should I do it?

Many Thanks

Kevin

Oh its a long story... I,ve been writing in for about 2 weeks and got loads of help removing some of the problems. But 1 or 2 suggested reformatting to clear everything so as there are still some problems Im doing that!!

Just need help as to what order to do things. Someone in another forum said

install xp
then install SP2

My XP disk just has XP, no updates. So can i install SP2 straight on after XP ?

Thanks
