For some reason when I insert my CPU Fan cable into the CPU Fan slot it does not function but when I insert the same cable into the System Fan slot the fan somehow works.

I was wondering is this some kind of error with the slot or the ATX_12V cable or power supply because everything else (unsure of processor) (except as I mentioned before my video card) seems to be working. Anything I hook up to the power supply (i.e. CD drive, hard drive(s), etc.)

My specs:
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-K8NSC-939 Socket 939
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3000+
Graphix: CHAINTECH Geforce FX5500
RAM: CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (1 Stick)
Case: RAIDMAX ATX-208
Power Supply: THERMALTAKE Silent PurePower 420W
Fan: MASSCOOL 80mm Sleeve Cooling Fan (6 fans) + 1 fan pre-installaed in the Case

Have you looked through the BIOS to see if there are any settings related to it in there?

Well my graphix card is apparently not working or something
is there a way to check if my Processor is working?
or if my graphix card is compatible with the mobo?

and how do i clear my bios through the hardware?

To reset the BIOS turn off the PC and unplug it from your power source. Open the case and remove the battery from the motherboard after touching the metal on the case to remove any static charge from your body. Hold the power button in for about 15-20 seconds, then release. Put the battery back in its spot, close the case, plug in the power and boot it up. Let me know what happens.

Or if it has a button on the mobo to reset it you can use that, alot of the newer 939 boards have it. In Bios there is a list of all installed hardware.

i had the same prob, both no vid(still happening) and cpu fan. remove anything in the front usb connectors (dont ask me why lol) and start it up in the correct slot(cpu fan thing). it should come on.

im having the same problem with my video card not showing up.. may have something to do with amd 3000+ (i have the same thing) but my motherboard is diffent.

Try resetting your CMOS...

There should be a jumper in your computer to do it..

Check your manual.

And if you dont have it goto your motherboard companys website, they usually have them for download as .pdf's

Hi,

I have not yet taken the time to download your manual and have a look but in your bios if you have anything that controlls the cpu fan speed such as cool'n quiet or smart fan or such try disabeling it.

I have seen similar problems recently and if I ain't mistaken they were with a Gigabyte board and this fixed the problem.

Ok dude, in his original post he mentioned nothing about no video

The next suggestion should have been to try another video card

Well the CPU Fan worked before and when I was fixing the graphix card the CPU Fan just stopped working when plugged into the CPU Fan slot for some reason.
