Laptop monitor blank

My laptop boots up / i can see winxp startup screen / but goes blank before the desk top comes up / i type in my password anyway and I can hear the windows activation music / still no monitor! / Tried to start with "last known config" still no luck / any ideas my good geeks? :tazz:

What happens if you startup in Safe mode? Screen still blank?
I you can start in safe mode, do a system restore. Sounds like a driver problem, or you lcd is kaput!
